Top Japanese Used Car: Caldina Wagon for Sale

June 25th, 2009

Japanese used cars are difficult to find because most consumers keep them for long periods of time.  The Caldina wagon is no exception.  Toyota marketed this vehicle beginning in 1992.  They produced this car for five years, but it was only sold in the Japanese market.  Later on they were sent to South America and Russia.  The last Caldina wagon that Toyota made was in 2007.  This Japanese used car went through some changes since it was first released.
While people do not drive as much in Japan this car was ruggedly designed.  It came with four wheel drive.  The base that was used in the later production of the Caldina was from the Premio or Allion.  This Japanese used car briefly replaced the Celica as the sports vehicle in the fleet once it was no longer produced.  The new look of the Caldina had a sleeker bumper and better headlights than the originals.
If you want to purchase a used Demio the best thing to do is find a used Lexus fromJapanese used car dealer.  A majority of the Japanese used vehicles can be fairly new.  This means that the warranties are still within the time or mileage parameters.  Since everything on the vehicles tends to be in good shape they make excellent used cars to buy.
The engine size of the Caldina wagon is 1.8 or 2 liters.  This makes it a very economical car to drive.  There is a 2 liter model that comes with a diesel engine.  The five doors on this Japanese used car make it ideal for a family or a business person that must haul cargo.  Not all of the models came with four wheel drive; some were designed with front wheel drive only.

Since the last year the Caldina wagon was produced was in 2007 you may be able to find one that still has the three year warranty.  This warranty was for unlimited mileage on the full mechanics.  It also had provisions for road service from AA and the maintenance checks for three years.  The mileage and condition of the vehicle should be verified by a certified dealer.  Toyota made the vehicle with a five speed manual transmission or a four speed automatic.
Toyota gave the Caldina the style of a family sedan, but with the performance of a wagon.  Locating this Japanese used car may take some time, but with all of its attributes it will be worth it.

Information to Look for on Japanese Used Cars

June 22nd, 2009

When purchasing any vehicle, not just a Japanese used car, you have to be wary of what the seller may be offering you.  It does not matter if you are purchasing the used car from a dealer or private seller; you need to answer a few questions about the vehicle of interest.  For example if you want a Suzuki Crossover or Isuzu Elf how do you know what model is best for you?  You may find a 2006 Japanese used car from a private seller, and a 2007 used car at a dealer.  But which is the better deal?  To help you figure this out there is some information below to help you.
* The first thing you want to do when you look at a Japanese used car is the odometer.  The odometer tells you how many miles the vehicle has been driven.  Typically a ten year old vehicle should have pretty high mileage.  However, if the odometer has already rolled over you may see surprisingly low numbers.
* If buying the used car from a private seller you should ask why they want to sell it.  Of course, you need to be diplomatic about it.  Often times selling a car has to do with money issues, but it could be the gas mileage or a simple case of relocation.
* Examine the interior and exterior of the vehicle.  Note any dings, scratches or other issues.  You will want to rate the condition of used Elf, especially so you can compare it to another used vehicle you might look at.  It also helps to make notes of these observations because you can use online sites to help you figure out the proper value of the vehicle.
* Ask the seller how many owners the Japanese used cars you are interested in have had.  For example a dealer can look at CarFax.com to determine the number of owners it has had, but a private seller may not know.  Still, asking the question of a private seller tells you whether they purchased the vehicle new or from another owner.
* Dealers automatically take you for a test drive.  However, they may be difficult when it comes to getting it inspected by an independent company.  If they really want to sell the vehicle you should not have a problem getting someone else to look it over.
With used Toyota Corlla do want to have a professional examine the car for any errors that are not overtly apparent.

Repairing Scratches On Your Car

June 21st, 2009

While you may be driving a used Cresta or used Ipsum car you still hate it when it gets scratched.  Seeing the scratches will drive you nuts every time you get in your car, and you simply do not have the money to get it fixed by a professional.  More often than not, you can fix these scuffs yourself unless the scratch is deep and could cause problems later down the line.  Before you can fix any scratches on your used Cresta or used Ipsum, you will need to determine a few things.

The first thing you need to do is determine what type of paint has been used on your car.  Newer cars that have been made with an enamel based paint will not work well with primer paint that is lacquer based.  You may need to invest in a more expensive primer paint.  You will need to take the VIN number of your car to your auto store and have them help you determine the type of paint that was used on the car and the exact color.  The VIN number will help them match up the lot number of the car’s original coat.  Sometimes you can find this number on the driver’s side doorframe or in the glove box, and if all else fails you can call a dealership to get the information.

Once you have determined the type of paint and color of paint you need, you will need to buy some body compound to fill in the scratch.  Carefully clean the area on the car that needs to be fixed to remove any dirt and wax, and then lightly buff the area with fine grained sandpaper to remove any rust that might be there.  Make sure the area is clean of any dust from sanding and then tape off the area with newspaper and masking tape about an inch around the scratch.

Fill the scratch in with compound using a plastic putty knife and follow the directions.  Once the compound has hardened you can sand the scratch flat.  Clean away all the dust from the area and then spray the primer onto the scratch.  Let this dry overnight and then use the touch up paint to paint the sealed scratch.  Let it dry overnight and you have fixed your Toyota Vitz.

Larger scratches such as ones found on doors and over the hood of the used HILUX SURF will need to be fixed by a professional.  If you leave the scratch for too long it can start to rust, and stopping rust is hard to do once it starts.  The sooner you fix the scratch, the better off you will be.

Blind Spots

June 17th, 2009

Blind spots are one thing we all learn about when we first learn how to drive.  It does not matter if you drive a cheap Nissan or a cheap used Honda; you need to be aware of all of the blind spots on your car.  By knowing where the blind spots are, you can save yourself a lot of money on car repairs and bodily injury.  Older vehicles do not have any form of safety gear to help drivers be more aware of the blind spots, so it is up to you to make sure you check them before switching lanes or backing up.

Today you can purchase small back-up cameras or mirrors that attach to your car to show you what is going on in the blind spot of your car.  This device is a good idea if you live in an area where there are a lot of children or animals.  Many children and animals have been hurt by drivers backing up and not seeing them.  These safety devices can eliminate these accidents and they are a very good investment.

Newer vehicles are starting to come equipped with some form of sensory device or camera to help them see their blind spot and to be aware of anything that might be in it.  The camera is usually mounted around the license plate and is wirelessly connected to an LCD monitor that is in the car’s cabin area.  Not only does it help with backing up, it also helps driver’s judge distances and manuever better while parking.  It can save you money by helping you avoid accidents that occur while backing up or changing lanes.

If you do not have a camera and cannot afford one, always make sure your mirrors are in the proper position to help you see where you are going.  While it is a good idea to turn your head while changing lanes or when you back up, you will also use your mirrors.  Mirrors get bumped when your cheap Honda is parked which is why you should check them at least once a week, if not more.  Additionally, you can purchase back up alarm sensors for your car, similar to the ones you hear on Mitsubishi Chariot Grandis.  They will help others be aware that you are backing up.

Being aware of your blind spots and making sure that no one is in your way is important when you are driving.  Always be aware of them and remain safe.

Save Money With Your Car

June 9th, 2009

In this time of international economic crisis we all are looking for ways to save money.  Believe it or not there are ways of doing this by using your car.  Your Nissan Cube 4WD or that Chariot Grandis you drive to work day in and day out is a treasure trove of money saving ideas and tips, and here we are going to tell you how to do it.

1. Keep you cheap Nissan Cube 4WD well maintained at all times.
This means keeping the oil changed, the fluids changed and full, the air filter and oil filter replaced, the tires inflated to the proper pressure and the engine tuned up.  You can actually increase the mileage you get out of a tank of gas by 7%.

2. Drive your Toyota Caldina Wagon at the speed limit or lower.  Around 55 miles per hour is where you get the maximum efficiency from a tank of gas which is getting expensive.  You also avoid speeding tickets.  If you can, avoid stopping and starting as much as possible to save on the maintenance on your car.

3. Remove any excess, unnecessary weight from your car.  You can boost your gas mileage by 2% for every 100 pounds you take out of your car.  Additionally if you are going on a road trip, avoid using the roof luggage rack.  Wind resistance against your suitcases drops your gas mileage.

4. Wherever you can, use public transportation, ride a bike, or walk wherever you need to go.  Avoid taxi cabs as well.  You can save yourself anywhere from $5 to $15 per trip by doing this, and biking and walking is actually good for you.

5. Research all of the cars currently on the market and purchase one that is easy to maintain and keeps repair costs to a bare minimum.  You will save thousands of dollars each year this way.

6. If you have an older Chariot Grandis you might be able to save on your car insurance.  It is not always cost effective to carry comprehensive or collision coverage on an older vehicle and you can reduce your cost by maintaining only what you absolutely need to in order to comply with the law in your state.  Plus you may be able to lower your monthly premiums by bundling your car insurance with your home owner insurance.

7. Finally, use one car.  Your Nissan Cube 4WD is big enough for the whole family, and with a little bit of advanced planning everyone can get everywhere they need to go without pulling the Chariot Grandis out of the garage.
